About exploration

Boliden Kylylahti Oy and Kylylahti Copper Oy, the Finnish subsidiary of its predecessor Altona Mining Ltd, have carried out exploration in Finland since 2005. Exploration is focused on the areas of Polvijärvi and Kaavi and aims at finding Outokumpu-style copper deposits. The company has valid claims and exploration permits amounting to 21 hectares (numbering 12,780). Exploration methods comprise deep drilling, geophysical hole, surface and aerial measurements, geophysical mapping, sampling the soil and obtaining samples using a geological hammer. In 2015, exploration diamond drilling was carried out for a length of approximately 19.3km, and the company has increasingly invested in exploration during the past two years. In 2016, the total length of exploration diamond drilling is expected to be around 40km. The company has no concessions subject to appeal.
